Tripods and monopods aren’t just for landscapes—they help keep your shots sharp and reduce fatigue during long waits for wildlife appearances. Combine them with lens hoods and protective filters for extra versatility.
3. Understand Light and Composition
Wildlife photography is all about timing and light. Pay attention to backgrounds and how they separate your subject from distractions. Even if your lens isn’t a high-end telephoto, clever composition can make your subject pop. And remember, a noisy image is better than a blurry one—so don’t be afraid to push your ISO when needed.
4. Study Your Subject
Knowing animal behavior and habitat can drastically improve your chances of capturing the perfect shot. Observe patterns, feeding times, and movement, and always prioritize safety—for yourself and the wildlife.
